Infant Massage
Infant massage isn't like an adult massage. It's a calm, special time to touch, talk, and connect with your baby, and to learn their signals.
Get ready
Choose a quiet spot and lay your baby on a clean blanket, on the floor is fine. You can use a gentle, unscented lotion or oil; ask your baby's doctor which is best for their skin.
Ask first

Gently rub a small area, like the bottoms of the feet. If your baby fusses or squirms, try again another time.
How to massage
Use small circles on the arms, legs, feet, chest, and back, or long strokes from head to toe. Not too light (it tickles) and not too hard. Avoid the belly button area until the cord stump falls off.
Make it a routine
After a diaper change or bath is a great time. Lean close so your baby can see your smile, and talk or sing as you go.
If your baby has any health issues, check with their doctor before starting massage.
