Learning Through Play
Play is your baby's job! Through play, babies learn how their world works, using all of their senses.
Physical skills
Reaching, grabbing, and rolling a ball help your baby use their hands and, later, their whole body to crawl, walk, and climb.
Thinking skills
Toys show your baby what things do, where they fit, and what goes together.
Language and social skills
Describing what you're doing as you play builds vocabulary. Cooing back and forth is one of your baby's first social skills.
Toy ideas
Mobiles, baby-safe mirrors, rattles, stacking toys, picture books, musical toys, squeeze toys, and teething toys.
