Talking Through the First Year
Simply talking to your baby builds their brain. Research shows the more words babies hear in their first year, the stronger their reading and thinking skills later on.
Narrate your day
"Okay, time for tummy time! Let's work those muscles." Talk about what you're doing, where you're going, and who you'll see.
Read together
Board books with simple words and pictures are perfect. Your local library is a great free resource.
Sing songs and rhymes
Any songs count!
Have one-on-one conversations
Look into your baby's eyes, talk, and pause to let them "respond," even if they don't make a sound. That's how conversations begin.
