Soy milk is a plant-based beverage made by soaking, grinding, and boiling soybeans before filtering the liquid. It has been consumed for centuries, particularly in East Asian diets, and is now widely available across global markets. With a mild, slightly nutty flavor, soy milk is often used as a substitute for dairy milk in beverages, cereals, and cooking. Its versatility and relatively neutral taste make it easy to incorporate into everyday diets without significant changes in flavor or texture.

Nutritionally, soy milk is known for its protein content, which is comparable to that of cow’s milk, along with essential nutrients such as calcium and vitamins when fortified. It also contains compounds called isoflavones, which are naturally present in soybeans. However, the nutritional profile can vary depending on whether the product is sweetened, flavored, or fortified. As with most processed beverages, reading ingredient labels helps in understanding what is actually being consumed.
