Exhaustion During Pregnancy

Your body is working overtime to grow your baby. Being tired early in pregnancy is well known, but exhaustion later on can catch you off guard, especially with trouble sleeping, heartburn, or leg cramps.

Snack for energy

Try oatmeal, nuts, whole grain cereal, or cheese and crackers, and drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Rest, even without napping

Set a timer on your phone and close your eyes for 10 to 20 minutes.

Get up and move

If you sit a lot at work, stand up and walk around whenever you can.

Go to bed early

Take naps when you can. You're making a baby, and that's hard work!

If you're more exhausted than seems normal, mention it to your doctor or midwife.
