NurturePA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This information is not tax or legal advice. Please consult your financial or tax advisor about your situation.
Give from your IRA
Support PA moms with a gift that can also lower your taxes.
If you're 70½ or older and have a traditional IRA, you can make a gift to NurturePA directly from your account through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). It's one of the simplest and most tax-efficient ways to give, and your gift helps connect a new mother with a peer mentor who understands what she's going through.
How it helps you
-
Your gift isn't counted as taxable income. Because the money goes straight from your IRA to NurturePA, it's excluded from your income, and you benefit whether or not you itemize deductions.
-
It can count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD). If you have to take money out of your IRA each year but don't need it, you can direct some or all of it to NurturePA.
-
It may lower other costs. Keeping your income lower can reduce how much of your Social Security is taxed and may help you avoid higher Medicare premiums.

You can give up to $111,000 in 2026 this way. If you and your spouse each have an IRA, you can each give up to that amount.
How to make your gift
-
Contact your IRA custodian (the company that holds your IRA, such as Fidelity, Vanguard, Schwab, etc.) and ask to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).
-
Give them our information:
-
Legal name: NurturePA, Inc.
-
EIN: 46-5279750
-
Mailing address: P.O. Box 13, Glenshaw, PA 15116
-
-
Let us know your gift is coming. Checks from IRA custodians often arrive without the donor's name, and we want to thank you properly. Email Brittany Reno at breno@nurturepa.org.
Planning a gift this year?
Your gift must leave your IRA by December 31 to count for this tax year. Many custodians need requests by early to mid-December, so we recommend reaching out to yours as early as possible. If you'd like your gift to count toward your RMD, make it before you take the rest of this year's required withdrawal.
