Making New Parent Friends
The early months with a new baby can be exhausting and isolating, even though everyone expects them to be the happiest time of your life. Other parents going through the same thing can help you feel less alone.
Why it helps
Friends with babies the same age can answer the question every new parent asks: "Is this normal?" Hearing that others feel the same way is reassuring.
Where to meet other parents
Try a childbirth education class, prenatal yoga, a support group for expecting or new parents, online parent communities, or other pregnant people in your neighborhood.
Start small
You don't need to find a group tomorrow. Just start thinking about who your support circle will be. You'll be so glad you did once your baby arrives.
Your peer supporter is part of your circle
NurturePA exists for this reason: so you can talk with someone who has been there. Text anytime.
