Contribution will provide direct relief to mothers facing economic hardship across southwestern Pennsylvania
PITTSBURGH, PA — July 27, 2026 — NurturePA, Inc. announced today that it has received a donation of 150 $25 gift cards, totaling $3,750, from Giant Eagle. The gift cards will be distributed to mothers enrolled in NurturePA's peer support program to help ease the financial pressures of caring for a young child.

NurturePA provides free, text message-based mentorship to mothers of children ages birth through five, connecting them with trained peer mentors to support both maternal and infant mental health. The organization currently serves over 1,300 families, 40 percent of whom report household incomes below $20,000. Many of these families have been further strained by recent changes to SNAP benefits.
"This support from Giant Eagle comes at a critical time for the moms we serve," said Susan Crookston, Executive Director of NurturePA. "These gift cards go directly toward easing the everyday costs of raising a baby, and that kind of relief makes a real difference for a family that’s stretched thin.”
The gift cards will be used as part of NurturePA’s ongoing programming to support mothers in the community. Mentors will be empowered based on their relationship with the mothers they support to offer the gift cards when a need is inferred or expressed. NurturePA is profoundly grateful for Giant Eagle's continued investment in local families and community organizations.
